Danmark Koder OBD-ll / E-OBD

Velkommen til en introduktion i E-OBD.

Inden vi beskriver systemet som det fungerer i dag, er det som altid en god ide at starte fra begyndelsen.

Californien har altid været forgangsstat for bekæmpelse af forurening, det er der måske ikke noget at sige til, ide der i området kørte mange biler og deres vejrforhold var og er af en sådan beskaffenhed, at skyer af smog, mm. ikke bliver blæst væk i et tempo vi kender her fra Scandinavien.

I 1966 begyndte man i Californien at indføre en strammere emmisionspolitik, hvilket medførte til at biler der kørte i staten, skulle være udstyret med en eller anden form for forureningskontrol. Dette var dog kun i beskedent omfang, men fra 1967 blev det faktisk vedtaget at skulle gælde i hele USA.

I 1970 vedtog kongressen i USA at etablere EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), -en slags miljøministerium, og samtidig vedtoges en politik for renere luft (Clean Air Act).

I begyndelsen var der ingen, eller få standarder, og bilerne kørte med hver deres system og signaler. Det første sæt standarder kom i 1988, hvor SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) fremkom med standarder for dataforbindelserne (Stikket til testeren) og test signalerne. Disse overtog/anbefalede EPA.

OBD ll er udviklet af SAE og er en videreudvikling af disse standarder og er ligeledes adopteret af EPA samt CARB (California Air Resources Board), for brug i biler fra 1. januar 1996.

Et system for kontrol af køretøjer i USA  ”I/M240”, (betyder Inspektion/vedligeholdelse og 240 hentyder til en test på rullefelt i 240 sekunder), har ikke haft stor succes, det er krævende og dyrt, og bilejerne samt mange af staterne er imod det.

E-OBD er stort set det samme som OBD ll, men kontrol af tankdækslet/utætheder i systemet via vakuum eller tryk er frataget. Der er i øvrigt heller ikke lovkrav om advarsels lampe på instrumentpanel under E-OBD.

For Danmarks vedkommende er det vedtaget, at biler der er typegodkendt efter 1. januar 2000 eller er indregistreret efter 1. januar 2001,  skal være udstyret med  E-OBD

I USA er OBD lll på tegnebrættet, det bliver sandsynligvis med automatisk kontrol via satellit eller vejelektronik, der opfanger biler som kører med fejl i systemet….
